This page explains what personal information we hold, why we hold it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
If you list land: your name, email address, phone number, the district you are in, and everything you enter about the parcel. If you upload ownership documents, we hold those too.
If you enquire about land: your name and phone number, your email address if you give one, whatever you write in the message, and the IP address the enquiry came from.
If you simply browse: ordinary web-server logs, and a session cookie so the site works.
Why we hold it
We hold seller details so we can review a listing and speak to the owner about it. We hold buyer details so a person from our team can call you back about the land you asked about, and so we can make an introduction if it is a good match.
We do not sell your information to anyone. We do not share it with advertisers.
Who sees it
A seller's phone number is never shown to buyers. A buyer's details are never shown to sellers on the site. Both are visible only to our own staff, who use them to make the introduction we exist to make. When we do introduce two people, we tell each of them we are doing it.
Ownership documents are stored privately, are never given a public web address, and are only opened by the person who uploaded them or by staff who need to review them.
How long we keep it
Listings and their history are kept while your account exists, and for a reasonable period afterwards, because a record of what was advertised and when matters if a dispute arises.
Enquiries are kept as a record of the service we provided. Enquiries marked as spam are kept only so we can recognise the same source again.
Photographs
Photographs are re-processed when uploaded, and location data embedded by your camera is stripped. A geotagged photograph of a parcel would otherwise disclose its exact position, which is the seller's to give out, not ours.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data of yours we hold and what we have done with it
- correct anything inaccurate or incomplete
- erase data we no longer need for the purpose you gave it for
- withdraw consent you previously gave
Write to our grievance officer, , at . We will respond as quickly as we reasonably can. If we cannot do what you have asked — for example where we must keep a record for a legal reason — we will tell you why.
Security
Access to personal data is restricted to staff who need it, and every action taken on a listing or an enquiry is recorded against the person who took it.
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will tell you.
